Hey there everybody! I hope you’re all recovering from your turkey comas, and are ready to tackle another week! I know it’s hard returning to work after a long weekend, but guys we got this!
I realize I’m probably a bit behind, but as promised here is part two of my favorite parts of fall post. But, I do feel these faves of mine are very appropriate for the holiday season and winter months as well (that’s my rationalization anyway)!
I know many people get blue during the cold fall and winter months, having to stay cooped up without enjoying the outdoors due to the weather. I, for one, enjoy this time of year. It beckons us to slow down, stay inside cozied up with loved ones, and enjoy things we often find we are “too busy” during the warm months to do.
Not convinced? Well, check out some more of my favorite things about the chilly months. I’ll see if I can’t convince you that it is possible to enjoy this time of year!
This time of year has long been known as baking season! For one, the cold temperatures put us in the mood to pop something warm and sweet in the oven, and then cozy up with a blanket and enjoy our delicious treat. And secondly, bikini season is months away, so we have plenty of time before we have to worry about looking good in those darn things! So, be mindful of your sweets and sugar intake of course, but do enjoy it!

Fall and Winter Fashion
Now I KNOW I’m not the only one who loves this part about this time of year! How many pins and images do we see on social media during this time of year about “boots, scarves, sweaters, and jeans weather”? Manufacturers even create home decor signs highlighting our love for these cold weather fashion staples. For me, I truly cannot have enough sweaters! Hey, if it’s going to be cold we might as well look good, right ladies? And let’s not forget about our men. There’s nothing I love more than my scruffy, broad shoulder husband sporting a plaid flannel shirt. #lumberjacklove
Planting Spring Bulbs
If you’ve been following along on my blog with me, you probably know that I am an amateur gardener. With some recommendations from my friends and even some of my patients at my day-job, I picked out some spring bulbs to plant. My husband helped me dig up the holes, and I dropped each bulb into place. I planted tulips in purple and red, and hyacinths in white with blue edges. Someone recommended ordering from Breck’s, and I love how thorough they are with their instructions so that amateurs like me can (hopefully) be successful!
Last but not least, I love making my home feel nice and cozy for the colder months. Being slightly introverted, an evening spent curled up with a blanket, a warm drink, and a good book is like heaven on earth. Throw in a loving family, and what else could a girl ask for?
During these colder months, I encourage you all to find happiness and joy where you may otherwise find gloom and boredom. Think of things you enjoy doing, maybe things you typically don’t have time for when the weather is nice, and pursue them this season. Though baked goods, cozy sweaters, and the thoughts of a blooming spring are wonderful, let’s learn to enjoy the now. Each season is beautiful in it’s own way, and we can enjoy them all!
